Last night Lily was overnight at a friend’s house so Connor and I were free to have a breakfast that she hates; pancakes! I called out the ingredients and Connor made them. They were delicious! He and I went into my school to work on my classroom. We left early because Lily wasn’t feeling well. We are watching through the Terminator movies, so today we watched Rise of the Machines. That’s it!

Today I worked on cleaning up the dojo so I can get back to Karate and have a space to do yoga. Connor mowed the backyard and we made ready to have a fire in the firepit. But unfortunately, the wind picked up and we mixed the idea for safety. Of course, Bonesie was very helpful. And I saw a bee wearing red pants! That means the chestnut trees are blooming!

Today was a busy day. Ryan helped me install the new screen door. It’s vinyl, and for some reason they made it the same size as the hole it was to go in. It was the size the guy at the store said to get. So we had to go to Ryan’s with the door to shave off half an inch to make sure it would fit, with the hinges. Then I went to Pat and Amanda’s to help assemble their new backyard patio set at their brand new house! It’s so exciting!

Apparently I didn’t take any pics today except for my brow shot. I’ve been doing one every day so I can compare for myself, and see the brow journey. Today I had breakfast with my staff, then went into school to declutter and pass on things to the next teacher that has my kids. We also took the cats back to the vet for their 48 hour kidney function test and they’re still good. We are all so thankful. Apparently Tribble has an issue with one of his teeth. They said it should come out, but it’s another 2 grand. I asked about leaving it for now, and she said that’s fine because it doesn’t seem to be giving him any discomfort.

Last day of school and thankfully, the kittens’ kidney  levels were still normal, and Tribble’s have normalized again. We picked them up and have an appointment for tomorrow with our normal vet to get bloodwork again. They have made it past the 48 hours. Tribble seems super rickety. But he curled up with Lily for the movie, so I know they missed each other. At our end of year cornhole (which I won last year with my partner), we lost ha ha ha! I left early to go get th cats, then the kids and I watched a movie. Lily felt sick, so he didn’t want supper. On her way up to bed, she puked. Half in the carpet. We have hardwood (laminate too) in our whole house except two places. This was the first time cleaning up people puke. It was meatloaf. Do not reccommend.

We thought we were going to lose our cats today. Lily earned her very own plant for studying with me this term. She picked lillies. Last night, I saw Westley get up on the island to nibble on them. She also told me Tribble did as well. The next morning Lily said “I hope it’s not bad for the cats.” (She knows I’ll never have a pointsettia in the house because they’re poisonous to cats. SO ARE LILLIES!  They cause kidney shutdown and it’s fatal. Every part - stem, leaves, flowers, everything. I called the vet immediately. They weren’t exhibiting any symptoms but they told me to get them to emerge immediately. We also took Buttercup because we know she’s nibbled the spider plant before and she gets into whatever her brother does. 

We got to emerge. They said the first 12-18 hours are critical, by the time overnight had passed and our waiting time, it was at the 14h mark. They said the only thing they could do was blood tests to monitor kidney function, and flush their systems via IV for 48 hours. If they survive the 48, they are unlikely to succumb to.it. However there could be kidney damage. It was going to cost $15,000 I don’t have. (I already paid $500 immediately before they could be seen, for emergency fee and three exams. They crunched numbers for for me and were able to bring the cost down to $6,000 for the treatment for 24 hours. This included blood tests off the hop and 1 more after the night had passed. This was the option we went with. We got a call from the doctor at 10pm to let us know the kittens kidney levels were so far normal, but two of Tribble’s were up. We will wait to see what happens, and I’m terrified this will effect Lily psychologically if any of them don’t make it. It’s so lonely going to bed tonight without Wes.

Today was our trip to see the live action How to Train Your Dragon. It was awesome. Made multiple trips with kids to the bathroom, but it was so close to the original, I didn’t miss anything.i’ve also been beefing up my chess skills on Duolingo on top of Spanish. For the life of me though, I can’t see how this is a checkmate. I moved the white knight into position and it gave me the point as a checkmate. However, my knight could have easily been taken by the pawn there, negating check. It’s hurting my head.

Follow up - I realized that the pawn is a pinned piece. Can’t move because of my queen. My focus was too much on the top of the board.

DinoMight’s shed continues. She blew herself up like a fat, little sausage balloon to make her skin split more. A couple of seconds later, I watched her deflate as she let the air out. She’s up to about two baths a day to help with discomfort. Lily and I went to town to grab some things in town, and she found the most gigantic aloe leaf! I approached her with a bunch of celery. I snuck up, and I shocked her with it. I told her i was stalking her.

Today Connor took the initiative to pull out the lawn mower and do the lawn! We assembled the whipper snipper or weed whacker, and he got to try that too. He’s in love! The kittens sat in the window and watched him, totally enthralled! It was their first time seeing and hearing either of those.

Today I worked on report cards till Pat and Amanda came to go see a couple of my frined’s play at a local pub. It was a great set. Then home again to work on reports till 3 am. Dino is doing a massive body shed. She’s peeling like a banana! Check out her papery collar.

Played the coffee house with Keith tonight! So glad I did! The crowd there is so encouraging.. I also saw a woman there playing a cajón with wire brushes, and using her heel as a kick. I’m gonna have to get one and try it. It would take up so much more room than the drum kit.

So today I did something very amazing. I laid there while a very nice Mrs. Microbladed my brows. They’re going to lighten up in a couple of weeks, but I’m very happy with the results. For those of you who know me well, you’ll know that in most pictures and anytime the sun is out, half my brow dissappears. Well, no more! My friend Victoria got hers done by the same girl, and she told me she was looking for three models for the brow procedure for her salon, so she was offering it for free as long as we were good with before and after pics etc. I was. I’m thrilled with the results - brows that don’t dissappear.

Today we had a day of appointments. Lily has new glasses with her new prescription. We went to replace the broken screen door so the kittens won’t escape and we can let in some fresh air this summer seeing as how our window crank is gone. They didn’t have the one size I needed so I’m going to have to order it. I did luck out on lumber though to build the casing around the kitchen post. Necessary as we have exposed wire. I managed to find the dregs of larger “planks” that had been made by putting together smaller pieces - three were broken off at the exact right size I needed so I don’t have to cut them. I had a migraine that wouldn’t quit, so I treated myself to Starbucks and the person put a pun on it for me! There was a seagull as well, on a nest made of turf and rocks etc. right beside the drive through. Lily and I stopped for Five guys (her first time being there), and she was amazed and just loved the peanuts you eat while you wait. It might be my new favourite fast food joint. The meat is meat. The fries are the right kind of crispy.

This week has been a whirlwind of marking and report card writing, and not done yet. Getting closer. I did take a break to do the festival of blooms at the botanical gardens as a fairy. More posts to come when report cards are done. I managed to recreate a version of the breakfast I had for my birthday at the Bagel Cafe, and it was so good. My first time making hollandaise sauce from scratch, and it was surprisingly easy. Nom.

Well, that’s another concert in the books! It’s been an exhausting three weeks of burning the candle at both ends. I look forward to sleep tonight. I celebrated at the brewery with the 2 kids and the last of my gift certificates. I also did my first tiny crane! I made a square from the paper circle that holds the cutlery wraps together. Proud again. And so proud of the kids today, at school and home. Back to report cards tomorrow. The songs from the spring concert are stuck in my head and I’ve started recording a couple of them at home. Got down some double bass tracks and was fiddling around with some violin.

Today was our last practice before tomorrow’s concert. I plan on wearing a dress tomorrow and I realized that my toenails were in dire need of a new coat of polish, really the whole gambit of TLC. So another late night in the books. The up side is that Duolingo now has chess, as well as math and music! Waiting for my nails to dry, I was able to put in some serious chess and spanish work. I’m actually proud of myself.
